FMS 800mm Beaver

In the long river of aviation development, the DHC-2 "Beaver" designed by de Havilland Canada stands as a unique and dazzling star. The Beaver was originally designed to meet the need for transporting small groups of people and cargo in wilderness areas. At the time, Canada's vast and complex terrain—with its expansive wild forests, mountain ranges, and a web of rivers and lakes—urgently required an aircraft capable of operating in harsh environments. In 1946, based on market research and feedback from pilots, de Havilland Canada decided to develop a rugged, multi-purpose aircraft that could take off and land in any harsh conditions. Through market studies, they gathered pilots' requirements for the new aircraft's performance.

Pilots universally desired a powerful plane with exceptional Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) capabilities, adaptable to wheeled, skid, or float. Even though engineers warned that such a design would compromise cruise performance, pilots believed that as long as it was faster than dog sleds and could deliver heavy cargo to remote areas, it would succeed!

Once launched, the Beaver became one of the most legendary bush planes of the 20th century, symbolizing wilderness exploration with its outstanding STOL abilities and reliability. Primarily used as a bush plane, it served various purposes: transporting goods and passengers, aerial work (including crop spraying and aerial fertilization), and civil aviation tasks.

Now FMS has recreated this classic model with an 800mm wingspan, perfectly balancing portability and flight performance.

The FMS model

The DHC-2 Beaver from FMS is a detailed replica of the legendary bush plane made of EPO hard foam. With a wingspan of 800 mm, this model combines impressive scale looks with excellent flight characteristics - perfect for pilots who want to experience the character of a true classic both on the ground and in the air.

The model – attention to detail

The FMS Beaver impresses with numerous scale details: a detailed replica radial engine, finely engraved panel lines and realistic antennas give the model an authentic appearance. The robust landing gear with plastic-coated steel legs ensures stability during landings, while the wing struts not only look good, but also increase structural strength.

Two different colour schemes are available – either in the classic civilian look or as a patrol aircraft – both with bright accents for maximum visibility in flight.

The 2S brushless drive with 2315 KV3850 motor delivers quiet but powerful thrust and enables stable flights even at low speeds. Four precise 2g digital servos ensure accurate control responses. Thanks to the tool-free quick-release design, the main wing can be removed in just a few seconds – ideal for transport and storage.

A prepared camera compartment on the upper wing allows easy installation of an FPV system (25 mm AIO camera, sold separately).
